ACT II

White rose petals are strewn around the lavish bedchamber. Kirby lays on the bed, stomach first with her legs crossed. In her hands is a picture of Byron. She caresses the frames as she cries. Two guards in black suits flank the bedroom door. They are frightened.

KIRBY
The love of my life suffers. And it's all my fault. But you left me no choice, Byron. It was supposed to be you and me. Mastering the Sacred List was supposed to be our destiny. Breaking your promise to me was cruel. Men are cruel!

Kirby throws the frame on the floor with such force that it shatters. She gets up from her bed and points to one of the guards.

KIRBY
You.

Reluctantly, the man approaches her.
